Steve is a founding Member of King, Yaklin & Wilkins, LLP, along with his Partner and law school classmate Russ King. Steve began practicing law in 1990, and spent the first seventeen years of his career at the Marietta law firm of Brock & Clay, where he was the Managing Shareholder in 2006. Steve was named to Georgia Trend's "Legal Elites" in 2018, an honor that was voted on by attorneys throughout the state of Georgia.
Steve’s litigation practice includes the representation of clients in construction, commercial, and contract litigation disputes. Steve also represents two Fortune 500 Companies who, combined, employ over 85,000 people.
In addition to his law practice, Steve served as the Chief Judge for the Municipal Court for the City of Powder Springs from 1994 through 2016. When he was appointed in 1994, he was the youngest Judge in the State of Georgia. Steve also served as a Chief Judge for the Municipal Court for the City of Woodstock from 2010 through July 2017. Steve also served as an Associate Municipal Court Judge for the City of Marietta from 1996 through 2017. Additionally, Steve has had the privilege of serving as the Attorney for the Cobb County Civil Service Board since 1997.
Steve has been married for 28 years, and he and his wife, Angie, are the proud parents of four boys. A former member of a traveling competition BBQ team, Steve enjoys cooking and catering events with his boys during his spare time.
